BEF Awards Event Honors Leaders

The Beaverton Education Foundation celebrated community and school leaders during the BEF Leadership Awards event held at the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts during Staff Appreciation Week in early May.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, Pence Contractors and Cetera Investors of Beaverton, this celebratory event brought together community partners, school staff and BSD retirees who are retiring from the Beaverton School District this year. Thank you, Sponsors!

We were honored to include Beaverton City Council President Edward Kimmi as emcee of the event. Council President Kimmi is also a parent of Beaverton High School graduates and a local Beaverton business owner. Thank you, Council President Kimmi!

COMMUNITY PARTNERS

Awards were given to key partners who support BEF’s mission to connect the community to the classroom:

  • First Tech Federal Credit Union: Extended and sturdy support for BEF’s STEAM initiatives have impacted students in every single BSD school and laid the groundwork for future scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians.
  • Beaverton Area Chamber of Commerce: Thanks to the BACC for their tremendous support of the 2024 Feed My Body, Feed My Brain winter break campaign and for promoting student internships for BSD high school students.
  • Herzog Meier Auto Dealers: For 37 years, Herzog Meier has been the driving force behind the Herzog Meier Senior Art Show, providing a professional gallery setting for artists to display their work and over $140,000 in scholarships to high school seniors.

SCHOOL PARTNERS

Awards were given to outstanding school partners who exemplify BEF’s commitment to incubating promising ideas and engaging students to reach their greatest potential:

  • Springville Elementary School for offering Summer Boost, a summer learning program for students who face the greatest risk of learning loss during summer break.
  • Raleigh Hills Elementary School for offering an after-school program for English Language Learners to develop their language skills while sharing ideas, taking risks using academic language, and working in small groups in a safe, supportive after-school setting.
