Grant Update – Sunset Engineering Boot Camp

Grant Update – Sunset Engineering Boot Camp

With the support of a $10,000 BEF Kids Count grant, the Sunset High School Computer Science and Engineering Department offered students going into grades 9-12 the opportunity to enjoy hands-on learning at a 4-week summer Engineering Camp.

Students worked in digital design, fabrication, laser cutting, prototyping, 3-D printing and mold casting during a free four-week camp held at Sunset.  At the end of Camp, students created their own innovative game and puzzle boxes using the tools and skills learned over the summer.  Students left Camp not only with the great projects they designed but with new confidence and excitement for Sunset’s amazing Computer Science and Engineering programs.

Take a look at some of the incredible student-made projects, visit the SunsetHSTech Facebook page, or find them on social media as SunsetHSTech.
