iX18 is a winner for Beaverton Education Foundation!

Beaverton’s Innovation Exposition was a huge success as an estimated 2,000 families, Beaverton school students, and community members attended the inaugural event at Aloha High School.  Parents, children, teachers, and friends had fun feeding the robot petting zoo, writing code with Ozobots and participating in Sphero programming.

The recruitment of new corporate sponsors to support iX18 provided an engaging atmosphere and was shared multiple times from businesses who approached BEF and BSD staff about forming new and strengthening existing partnerships.  Thank you to our Vision Partner First Tech Federal Credit Union, who helped staff Future Bus and to Nvidia, CompuNet, Vernier Software, and Oregon Tech for participating in interactive displays.

BEF’s Beaverton’s Choice funded several iX projects, such as the very popular Highland Park Claw Machine, Terra Nova Aquaponics, Coding with Microbits at Cooper Mtn., and the Cedar Park Robot Petting Zoo. We are excited to see the innovative and creative classroom projects still to come, as more teachers are becoming aware of the power of Beaverton’s Choice and apply for funding.

The event would not have been possible without the ongoing dedication and support of the District Future Ready Team and we are honored to continue to support the amazing teachers and students in the Beaverton community.

Most importantly, our students and their families had an incredible experience!

Thank you for your support.
