Middle School – After School | S4 Update

Timbers Grant Awarded:  BEF is pleased to announce, The Portland Timbers Community Fund (PTCF) advisory board has awarded Beaverton Education Foundation’s – Safe and Sound 4 Student Success program a grant of $7,500. This is the second time the PTFC has recognized the S4 program with an award.

BEF and a student from the program will be recognized on the field during halftime on Saturday, May 19 for the Timbers vs. LAFC game.

Safe and Sound 4 Student Success (S4) after-school program was created to increase student achievement through extended day tutoring and soccer. S4 has provided a time and place for students to receive academic tutoring, and ability to participate in fun-filled soccer activities. S4 has been busy over this academic school year and in doing so, would like to share some activities fun for the whole family.

Every May, towards the end of the school year, students and their families  from all Beaverton middle schools celebrate their academic growth in the S4 program in the annual Mother’s Day Soccer Tournament and Family Fiesta, May 11 from 4:30pm to 8:30pm. It has become a tradition for Whitford to host this tournament and celebration.
